If you’re somehow planning to move to a different career path, here are some options of skills that are actually quite in demand nowadays and in the future – with some free online courses that you can take during your free time or during lockdowns.

Digital Marketing was once underrated, but now it has become one of the most in-demand skills. Digital Marketing allows business owners to have more insights about their products, the markets they’re in, and the customers they need. With this information, they can plan effective & efficient strategies to increase their sales & revenue. Many businesses now have transitioned to completely online, or still complementing their offline ones with the online stores. 


New job opportunities are also created to cater the needs of this new digitalization phase; CRM, Performance Marketing, Social Media, and SEO. If you’re a fresh-grad or an experienced-employee, there’s no better time to get into the Digital Marketing career than now. Network and System Administrator

If you have an IT background, and you’re into network and computer systems, this role might be a good fit for you. As a network & system administrator you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the computer networks. Roles for this job are expected to grow 5-6% by each year since 2020. Data Analyst

Now if you’re quite good at math (not necessarily need to be an expert or a PhD) and love to get insights from cleaning & processing available raw data, this role might be a good fit for you. Many online courses also offer a learning path for this role, even a 3-month bootcamps are also available. Don’t get confused with Data Science though, as Analyst uses their data to create business models and strategy; while Data Science uses it to create machine learning models. Financial Analyst

As a financial analyst, you are required to evaluate current and past economic data, to identify any trends that can influence and benefit business decisions. If you have an Econ background, and want to improve more into a career path that is still relevant and up to date with the world nowadays, you might want to try this role.
